Valley Catholic girls soccer not slowed by move to Class 4A ranks in 2014
OregonLive & Beaverton Leader – November 21, 2014
There had to be some doubt in the Valiants’ minds. When the Valley Catholic girls soccer team – which won the Class 3A state championship in 2013 – found out that VC would move into the Class 4A Cowapa League beginning in the fall of 2014, there had to be doubts about whether the team could still compete against the state’s best. There had to be. But in retrospect – in looking backward after Valley Catholic’s 3-2 victory over Cascade in the 2014 Class 4A state championship game at Liberty High School on Nov. 15 – there were, apparently, no doubts whatsoever.

Valley Catholic’s Sarah Connelly nominated as Beaverton Leader Athlete of the Week
OregonLive and Beaverton Leader – November 17, 2014
Sarah Connelly, a senior forward on the Valley Catholic girls soccer team, just didn’t care on Saturday. She didn’t care that it was bitterly cold during her team’s state championship game against Cascade at Liberty High School. She didn’t care that game-time conditions left the temperatures in the low 30s with 15-17 miles per hour winds. And she didn’t care that her team was playing “up” against much larger schools in its first season of 4A competition. What she did care about, however, was winning, and win she did.
